Saraswathi finished her MSc in Microbiology from Pondicherry University, later joined ACTREC-Tata Hospital, Mumbai as a Research fellow with Dr. Sonam Mehrotra, and studied how DNA repair proteins respond during DNA damage response. Later she worked with Dr. Rohan Khadilkar and delved upon understanding the intestinal stem cell regulation during ageing. Currently her research interest lies in elucidating the basic biology involving metabolic re-wiring during embryogenesis.

When not in lab, Saraswathi loves spending time with family and friends, listening to music and singing along, sketching abstract art, cooking and experimenting new dishes, taking long strolls of the San Francisco city and enjoying peace!
