Serra received her BSc from Boğaziçi University in 2026 majoring in Molecular Biology and Genetics. During her time there, she did research on neurodevelopmental disease modeling, specifically neural tube defects, using Drosophila in Prof. Arzu Çelik Fuss’s lab. Later she studied how metabolism affects tissue dynamics in differently sized Drosophila pupae at Institut Curie in Dr. Yohanns Bellaïche’s lab. She is now studying autonomous clocks governing cell cycle in the Aydogan Lab.

Outside of the lab, she enjoys drawing, hiking and exploring cute cafes in the city.
